Flavor Fest 2025: A Celebration of Flavor, Community, and Connection

Suppose there’s one event that truly captures the heart (and taste buds) of Horizon West. In that case, it’s Flavor Fest — and this year’s celebration, brought to you by Horizon West Happenings, was bigger, bolder, and tastier than ever before.

Held under perfect Central Florida skies, Flavor Fest 2025 drew in crowds eager to sample dishes from 30 local vendors, groove to live music, and celebrate the vibrant culture that makes the Horizon West area one of the fastest-growing, most community-driven regions in Florida.

A Feast for the Senses

This year’s lineup featured culinary favorites like T-Rex Café and Yak & Yeti, alongside a variety of restaurants, microbreweries, and food trucks—all proudly representing the Horizon West area.

According to Audrey Houston, Director of Business Development, Flavor Fest’s growth has been fueled by both enthusiasm and inclusivity.

“Flavor Fest has doubled in size since last year,” Audrey shared. “Part of that is because we opened it up to microbreweries and food trucks—provided they’re based within the Horizon West area and can supply at least 1,000 samples. We wanted to keep it local and make sure there’s plenty to go around!”

And plenty there was. Guests were treated to everything from sizzling skewers and handmade pizza to decadent desserts and small-batch brews.

Personally, after sampling most of the food selections, two stood out as favorites: Lime and Pieology.

Lime brought the fresh flavors of Mexico to Flavor Fest, handing out tortilla chips paired with their signature house-made queso—a creamy, perfectly seasoned blend that struck just the right balance between rich and zesty. The chips were crisp and golden, cooked in small batches to maintain their texture, while the queso was crafted with a blend of real cheeses, roasted peppers, and just a hint of spice. It was a hit with vegetarians and food lovers alike—simple, satisfying, and full of flavor.

Pieology, on the other hand, wowed with customizable pizzas—each baked to perfection with flavorful sauces, crisp crusts, and delicious toppings that left a lasting impression.

Music That Moved the Crowd

No festival is complete without great music—and Flavor Fest 2025 delivered with two powerhouse performances: Francesca Tarantino

and the 789s Band.

Both acts kept the audience dancing, clapping, and singing along well into the night.

When asked how the festival curates its musical lineup, Audrey explained:

“We choose bands that can play cover songs and are local within a 20-mile radius. It’s important to us that the stage reflects the same local spirit as our vendors.”

That hometown pride resonated across the venue, making every performance a true celebration of community talent.

The Power of Health, Happiness, and Community

Flavor Fest 2025 wasn’t just about food—it was about connection, wellness, and joy. The event’s title sponsor, Orlando Health, embodied that message beautifully.

Mark Marhon, Jr., CFO of Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital, shared powerful words that struck a chord with the crowd:

“Health is about connecting and finding joy, not just the food that we put into our bodies.”

His words summed up the festival’s spirit perfectly—Flavor Fest nourishes not only our appetites, but also our sense of belonging.

This year’s event also benefited from marketing partnerships with The Local and Orange Observer, helping spread awareness and draw new visitors to Horizon West’s growing community of food and beverage artisans.

Voices from the Vendors

A festival is only as strong as its vendors, and this year’s lineup did not disappoint. I had the chance to speak with several of them to learn what inspired their participation.

At Piesanos, located in Windermere Lakeside Plaza, General Manager Steve Kafka shared:

“We’ve been doing this for four years. It’s been a big hit and a great way to network and meet new people.”

At Pieology in Flamingo’s Crossings Town Center, the team said:

“We found out about this because we’ve built relationships with Horizon West Happenings. Participation is a great way to be part of our community experience.”

Also located at Flamingo’s Crossings, Lime’s General Manager John Toro added:

“We love being part of the community.”

These conversations highlighted what makes Flavor Fest so special—it’s not just about great food, but the relationships built between local businesses and residents.

A Perfect Way to Unwind

After a day of tasting and talking, I wrapped up the evening with a rejuvenating five-minute teaser massage from Nicole at Hand & Stone Winter Garden. Their team, currently offering a holiday gift card sale, provided a relaxing touch to an already joyful event.

When asked why they chose to join the Fest, the Hand & Stone team shared:

“It’s such a great opportunity! We heard about Flavor Fest because we were part of another function with Horizon West Happenings. It was an easy choice to participate because it’s such a great opportunity to connect with the community, network, and meet people face-to-face—which leaves a positive, lasting impression.”

Why You Don’t Want to Miss Flavor Fest 2026

If you live in or around Winter Garden—or even if you’re visiting—Flavor Fest is a must-attend event.

This isn’t just another food festival. It’s a celebration of local pride, where every vendor, musician, and guest contributes to something bigger than themselves. It’s about connection, joy, and supporting the businesses that make Horizon West so special.

Whether you’re a foodie hunting for your next favorite dish, a music lover looking to discover local talent, or a family searching for a fun, welcoming event—Flavor Fest has something for everyone.

As the final notes of the 789s Band played and the crowd lingered under the evening lights, it was clear: Flavor Fest 2025 wasn’t just successful—the music filled the soul.

So mark your calendars for Flavor Fest 2026 and come hungry for more than just food. Come for the flavor of community that makes Horizon West shine.
